Magee Womens Research Institute's (MWRI) annual music-based fundraiser – Women Who Rock – which is an all-women live concert was cancelled due to COVID-19. So it pivoted to the #MomsRockChallenge so people could still participate - using music - right from their living rooms.
We talk to MWRI CEO Michael Annichine about the Challenge and more info on the MWRI's research and impact. So far, hundreds of people have done challenges on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. We’ve seen everything from original songs being performed, to dances, guitar and piano playing, photos of Mom, album covers, stop-action video productions, puppetry, zoom sing-a-longs, kids performances, etc.
